What’s Changed for 2026

Federal Tax Credits — Expired

The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (25C) and Residential Clean Energy Credit (25D) expired on December 31, 2025. If you installed qualifying equipment in 2025 or earlier, you may still claim those credits on your 2025 tax return using IRS Form 5695.

Arizona State Rebates — Still Available

The Home Efficiency Arizona Rebate (HEAR) program is Arizona’s implementation of the federal IRA Home Electrification rebates. These are point-of-sale rebates — meaning the discount is applied when you purchase the equipment, not on your tax return:

  • Heat Pumps: Up to $8,000 for low-income households
  • Heat Pump Water Heaters: Up to $1,750
  • Insulation & Air Sealing: Up to $1,600
  • Electrical Panel Upgrades: Up to $4,000
  • Home Energy Audits: Up to $250

Utility Rebates — SRP Cool Cash

SRP (Salt River Project) continues to offer Cool Cash rebates for qualifying high-efficiency AC and heat pump installations. Rebate amounts range from $125 to $400 per ton based on your system’s SEER2 rating. SRP also offers Home Performance rebates for comprehensive upgrades including insulation and duct sealing.

💡 Pro Tip: You can stack Efficiency Arizona (HEAR) rebates with SRP utility rebates on the same project. Shamrock Heating & Cooling is a qualified contractor for both programs.
